7 Days
Seven Days, the Bengali movie directed by मर Tathagata Bhattyacharya starring Saheb Chatterjee, Moubani Sarkar, Sreelekha Mitra and others is not a memorable watch.
‘Seven Days’, the new Bengali is a thriller which will mainly thrill the audience in wondering how could everything that happened in the film happened so easily.
Saheb Chatterjee, Moubani Sarkar, Sreelekha Mitra, Subhasish Mukherjee, Dipankar Dey form the main cast of the film.
Saheb Chatterjee, who plays the role of Dj Ringo, is accused of killing of the public relation manger of a hotel ( played by Sreelekha Mitra) not by police but by the younger sister of the victim (played by Moubani Sarkar).Ringo is threatened to be killed by his new love interest (Moubani) , if he cannot prove himself innocent within 7 days. Saheb is ‘easily’ threatened by the girl who holds the pistol like a bunch of flowers and do not even seemed to have the guts to kill an ant.Ringo gets seven days of time and launches the hunt for the real murderers and ‘easily ‘ came to know that the victim (Sreelekha) was getting targeted by the owner of the hotel, who happens to be a drug dealer. He also ‘easily’ found out that the manger of the hotel (played by Shubhasis) was somehow involved in the murder.
He threatened the manager one night storming in his house with a chopper in hand and ‘easily’ brought out the manager’s confessions that he killed the relationship manager unintentionally and he only wanted to persuade her to play a kidnapping drama.Soon after this all the bad guys were ‘easily’ put into jail with much action coming into play.
As it seemed that seven days’ deadline was too long for the hero and he had achieved his goal in one or two days. The audience would have liked more action. The songs are also ‘easily’ forgettable.Only the music director, i.e. Debjit Bera will pass with some good marks. The camera seemed to have shaken a bit at times and the occasional red backgrounds stole away the focus of the audience.Director and writer Tathagata Bhattyacharya also could have made the film more realistic.
