B-town’s top-league item girls

Just a few years ago.......................... doing an ‘item number’ in a film meant that ‘you are not big enough to play the lead role in screen...................................................................

Do ou remember Rakhi Sawant, Eesha Koppikhar, Sophie Choudry, Rajalakshmi and countless others? 

 But tables turned very soon; Urmila Matondkar did a Chamma Chamma, Shahrukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai did an Ishq Kameena to pep up Shakti, Aishwarya again swung her hips seductively in the famous Kajra re number from Bunty Aur Babli, Sushmita Sen danced sinuously in Mehboob mere from Fiza, Bipasha lit up male dreams in Beedi jalaile in Omkara, Shilpa Shetty wowed them all with a Dilwalon ke dil ka karaar lootne… in Shool and so many more. And now the big-time girls of B-town have begun to think that doing an item song will help reinstate their power at the box office better and faster than doing serious, mature roles could.
